NCSL Welcomes VA Revolution in Fall 2019
The National nal Capital Soccer League (NCSL) is pleased to announce the acceptance of Virginia Revolution Soccer Club (VRSC) for the Fall 2019 season. Since their inception, the club has shown tremendous growth, strong soccer leadership, and a commitment to serving the community at the grassroots level.
Founded in 2018, VA Revolution boasts a pre-travel and travel program lead by Technical Director Niko Eckart (former German/Dutch player) and Director of Coaching Hans Van Zupthen (UEFA “A” License). Along with their strong European ties, the club has a formal agreement with GPS and Bayern Munich, which help to provide proven curriculum to the club as well as international exposure for its players and coaches.
“After reviewing VA Revolution’s application and meeting their club leadership, the Board of Directors agreed that the club would be a strong contributing member to the league,” says Ryan Rich, NCSL’s Executive Director. “They possess a player-first teaching model, have access to quality game fields, and knowledgeable staff.”
As a member club, VA Revolution will benefit from NCSL’s robust platform and strong administrative support that will provide competitively appropriate games and a positive game-day experience. In addition, the club will have exclusive member access to league programming, such as the NCSL College Combines, winter/summer futsal leagues, and strategic partnerships formed by the league.
“At Virginia Revolution our primary goal is player development. Winning is wonderful, but if players aren’t continually challenged they won’t grow. By joining NCSL, we are better able to challenge our kids by taking advantage of the numerous divisions they have at each level”, says Niko Eckart , VA Revolution’s Technical Director. “We are very excited and honored to be a part of NCSL. They are an extraordinary organization that shares our values with strong clubs, amazing administrators and dedicated league officials”.
“We are excited to participate in VA Revolution’s next stage of development. The league is well-positioned to provide them with meaningful games and strong administrative support,” says Richard Smith, NCSL’s President. “The availability of valuable competitive pathways and college exposure opportunities will enable VA Revolution to optimally support the ambitions and growth of their players under one league platform.”
NCSL looks forward to VA Revolution joining and developing within the league. Their commitment to developing their youngest age groups bodes well for the club’s future growth and ability to increase the number of teams playing in the league.
